With less than 50 days to Christmas, we’re allowed to drop the C-bomb, right? It’s for a good cause, so we’re going to anyway. Our chosen charity, Rainbows Children’s Hospice are looking for Santas to take part in festive runs next month.
There will be three Santa Runs in December, taking place in Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, with distances varying from 2.2 miles to five miles. All money raised form the runs will go towards Rainbows’ vital work
Katie Baxter, events and community manager at Rainbows, said: “Christmas is almost here and these events are a perfect way of having some festive fun with your friends and family.
“We can’t guarantee there will be snow, but we do guarantee there will be a brilliant atmosphere and the camaraderie among all of our Santas is fantastic.
“So not only are you having a great time and keeping fit, you are also helping to fund Rainbows and the hundreds of families we support every year. We hope to see you there.”
The first two Santa Runs will take place on Sunday, December 7 – a month from now. One will be held at Elvaston Castle in Derbyshire, and the other will start at Loughborough Market Place.
The third run will be around Rushcliffe Country Park in Nottingham the following Sunday, December 14. All events start at 11am.
The Santa Runs look like great fun to be part of. And your efforts will help the hospice care for children and young people with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions – a very special Christmas gift to give.
Entry starts at £6.50 for children and £12.50 for adults. All entrants will receive a Santa suit on registration and everyone is asked to try and raise a minimum of £20.00 in sponsorship.
