At present, it is illegal for learner drivers to drive on a Motorway, however, from Monday 4th June, learners in England, Scotland and Wales will be able to take lessons on a Motorway if they are deemed to be ready.
The move has been made to ensure that new drivers know how to use the motorway network safely.
Currently, only optional driving courses such as Pass Plus allow new drivers to officially learn how to use the motorway.
To be able to take the new motorway driving lessons, learner drivers will need to be accompanied by an approved driving instructor and drive a car fitted with dual controls.
This move to allow learners on the motorways has been very well received by motorists and instructors alike.
The law will officially change on Monday 4th June.
