Since April 2009, AvailableCar has supported Rainbows Children’s Hospice in Loughborough through our Castle Donington and Sutton in Ashfield stores. Our Cannock store has been supporting Acorns Children’s Hospice since June 2014 and our new Leeds store has just started supporting Martin House Children’s Hospice in 2016.
For every £5 our customers donate when they buy a car from us, we match it, doubling the fundraising totals from our car sales and helping to make a real difference for the youngsters and their families who use the fantastic services provided by the two hospices.
Rainbows Children’s Hospice – £606,700
As the East Midlands’ only purpose-built hospice for children and young people, Rainbows is a place where children with life-limiting and life-threatening conditions and their families can find care and support.
The Loughborough-based hospice first opened its doors in 1994 and has since helped relieve symptoms, improve quality of life, support parents and siblings through their bereavements and care for children until the end. Their families too, are fully supported and helped by the Rainbows team on what can be a very difficult journey.

Acorns Children’s Hospice – £98,300
Established in 1988, Acorns Children’s Hospice Trust is a registered charity offering a network of care for life-limited and life-threatened children and young people and their families, across the heart of England.
These children and young people are not expected to reach adulthood and require specialist care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Acorns is the only organisation in the area that provides this level of care to these youngsters, while offering a range of support services to their families to help them cope at every stage of their child’s life and beyond into bereavement.
