At AvailableCar, we are a family-owned business and first opened our doors in the Midlands in 2002. Our aim was simple; to offer our customers a unique car buying experience in a relaxed, friendly environment.
Following the success of our first store in Castle Donington, we went on to open a further three stores, one in Sutton-in-Ashfield in 2007, followed by our Cannock store in the West Midlands in 2012, and then our most recent store in Leeds, West Yorkshire in January 2016.
Our Fundraising Vision
Owners, husband and wife team Graham and Alison Bell had a vision from the very beginning – to raise as much money as possible for some very deserving, local Children’s Charities.
Graham and Alison personally selected each of the three chosen charities, starting with Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People located in Loughborough and supported by our Castle Donington and Sutton-in-Ashfield stores, Acorns Children’s Hospice located in the West Midlands and supported by our Cannock store, and most recently, Martin House Hospice based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, supported by our Leeds store.
Graham and Alison instigated the brilliant idea that every customer buying a car would be offered the opportunity to donate £5 to the selected Children’s Charity in that region. In return, AvailableCar would match the customers £5 donation.
The response and generosity from customers has been simply overwhelming, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds to help these wonderful Children’s Charities to continue to do the incredible work they do every day.

When we first introduced the idea of asking customers for donations, we were unsure of the response, however, we could not have had a more positive outcome and many customers donate more than asked, which is just so generous”
Our £1MILLION Milestone
Our customers are incredible and have donated hundreds of thousands of pounds to our three chosen charities.
In addition to this, AvailableCar host an annual Golf Day Fundraiser, our most recent one raising over £12,000. Our staff contributions have included taking part in Marathons, Bike Rides, Skydives and Charity Football Matches, all of which have also raised significant amounts of money.
To date, through customer contributions, AvailableCar fundraisers and the dedication of our staff, we have raised an incredible £1MILLION for our three amazing Children’s Charities.
But it doesn’t stop here, and we will be continuing to fundraise throughout 2019, and beyond!
